FAMILY BEREAVEMENT FOR KTM FACTORY RIDER ANTONIO CAIROLI

It is with great sadness that KTM announces the passing of the mother of KTM factory rider and 2011 MX1 World Champion Antonio Cairoli who died after an extended illness today, Friday September 9, 2011 at home in Patti, Sicily. The management of the company and the entire KTM International Family extend deepest and sincere condolences to Antonio and his family.
Antonio’s mother Paola had been seriously ill for some time, and although she recently had made some improvement, her condition deteriorated dramatically during this past week and she passed away at 2.00 p.m. on Friday at home in Patti, surrounded by her husband Benedetto, son Antonio, other children and close family members. Antonio had immediately returned home to Sicily to be with his mother and family following his MX1 title victory last weekend in Gaildorf, Germany at the GP of Europe. The funeral will be at 5.00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10 in the cathedral at Patti.
Claudio De Carli, Antonio’s long time manager and the Red Bull Teka KTM MX1 Team Boss is in now Sicily to support him. Out of respect, and in view of the bereavement of the Cairoli family, Claudio, together with the senior management of KTM has decided that Antonio will not take part in the final round for the MX1 World Championship to be held this weekend in Fermo, Italy. The management of KTM and the Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing Team wish to underline that in such sad circumstances, human and family values take precedent above all else.

Golpe de escena en el mundial de rally –raids 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apenas apagado el tumulto del último Dakar 2012 y de la nueva victoria KTM con la lucha infernal que está que arde entre Cyril Desprès y Marc Coma , se viene un otro terremoto……..el chileno Francisco "Chaleco" López acaba de firmar con KTM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
El viernes 23 de marzo , un dia antes del debut del Mundial de Enduro 2012, Chaleco firmó con el team Bordone- Ferrari. ¿Quién es Bordone-Ferrari, se preguntarán ustedes? Bueno, este team italiano fue creado por Nicoletta Bordone, nieta de un industrial milanés que en los años 30 se dedicó al diseño y construcción de motos y el arquitecto Renato Ferrari, gran apasionado por las motos , para correr el campeonato del mundo de Enduro (con pilotos como Thomás Oldratti y Alessandro Botturi) y el Mundial de Rally Raids con pilotos como Gerard Farrés o Jordi Viladoms, con motos KTM 450 Rally, idénticas a las de Coma o Despres y capitaneado por Jordi Arcarons con una estructura de nada menos que 34 personas.
Cuando uno conoce la trayectoria de Jordi en el ambiente motociclistico ( 3 veces campeón de España de Enduro, 15 participaciones en el Dakar con 30 victorias de étapas, 4 veces segundo y 2 veces tercero de esta carrera) no cabe duda de que el capitaneado será un lujo.
¡Sin ninguna duda , Chaleco va a heredar del Nº1 en el equipo y tendrá a Villadoms o Farres como "portador de agua" en el Dakar "2013.
CURSO DE MOTOCROSS CON THALES VILARDI
Para todos los interesados que quieran participar, el día viernes 27 de mayo a partir de las 11:00 hs, el piloto paulista Thales Vilardi, Campeón Brasilero de Motocross en varias oportunidades, competidor que fuera representante de la delegación brasileña en el Motocross de las Naciones 2010, participante de Campeonatos Latinoamericanos y actualmente integrante del equipo Mega Energy/KTM Mormaii, estará dando un curso de motocross en el circuito Los 3 Pasos, trazado que será utilizado ese mismo fin de semana para disputar la primera jornada del Campeonato de Motocross FUMODE 2011.
